The Marmalade Pantry @ ION

I haven’t been recovering still after so many days. But the nyonya zhang I bought for them can’t wait too long. And so we decided to meet up for dinner tonight. First day of work ever since I have fallen sick, therefore it’s my ‘blue monday’ and I need something nice to perk me up!

Imagepromotion till end jun … but too bad we are not ntuc members 😦
for those with the cards, do note that it’s maximum 2 redemptions per card per table. so i guess it’s best to go in four 😉

Imagewarm spinach salad with mozzarella, bacon, pine nuts and burnt butter dressing (S$23)

Though I’m not supposed to eat fried stuffs now, but it would be a waste not to eat the breaded mozzarella. Just a little will do 😛 and I did not regret cos the taste was fresh and cheesy!

And btw if you thought that white creamy thing on top was some kind of a whipped cream or dressing, well you are wrong! It’s simply a nicely whipped (I wondered if it’s the right word to use) soft boiled egg. Creative huh! 😉

Imagepan roasted red snapper (S$28)

I just tried a small piece of their red snapper. It was quite a light taste.

Imageoriental grilled king salmon with soba (S$26)

I had this instead. The salmon was meaty and flavoury. But I don’t like the texture and taste of the soba, so rough and raw.

Imagesea salt caramel cheesecake (S$8)

We ended it off with a cheesecake which we were told was one of the popular choices here. Not bad, not too sweet and the cheesy taste is
just nice. Honestly, how does sea salt tasted like?

Poulèt @ Chinatown Point

Walked passed here the first time I came after Chinatown Point has revamped. So today I shall try this!

ImageImageImageImagesaucisson (S$6.80)

The sausages were a little salty but quite crunchy. I prefered to dip them into the yellow wasabi sauce.

Imagelamb shank (S$15.80)

I love my lamb shank! Very tender and tasty. No hint of gamey taste at all. Even the onion was so well soaked with the gravy which tasted as good!

Somehow if you looked at the picture on the menu outside the restaurant, mine wasn’t served with mashed potato and mini carrots. I guess it would be more perfect if I had those. Wonder what made the change -_-”

Imagebraise de poulèt (S$13.80)

This was almost herbal chicken alike. Also tender but the taste was a little bland.

Next was our dessert at Eat At Taipei.

ImageImageImageImagesweetened bean curd with tapioca jellies, big red beans, and gingko nuts (S$4)

Imagemango ice (S$7.90)

These desserts weren’t too bad but nothing special to shout about. Simply norm….

We noted that their restaurant closed at 10pm. Since their last order is 9.30pm and we just need a simple dessert or 2 before we end our day and it was only 5mins before 9pm when we entered the restaurant, I do not understand why did they started mopping their floor even before 9.30pm.

Kinda spoiled our appetite with the detergent smell. We felt as though we need to quickly finished up our desserts. And we were given a black face by the young chap who was mopping the floor then when we walked past the already mopped area. That was the nearest exit towards the taxi stand from their restaurant. Close it if you doesn’t want anyone to go through that glass door.

Maybe I will try out their cooked food someday…but at some other branches.

A “Happy Cows, Happy Hearts” campaign by The National Parks Board (NParks) and Moove Media, to remind people to care for the environment.

But talking about greenery, ironically this area will soon be occupied by Spore tallest building.

Whether the underground Xchange can take such a weight, time will tell. But one thing I can forsee is that the rent will go up, and food prices will eventually rise too.

Challenging the Hero Sized Burger

It’s labour day today! No work for me! Not even house chores! 😉

A friend highly recommended this and I decided to try it today.

Dae…bak! Awesome! This is huge!!! What have I got myself into?! =_=

Image
it’s actually bigger than my hands.

Image

Every mouthful is so ugly … cos I need to open my mouth wide enough in order to bite it from the top to the bottom in one bite. If not I will only be able to eat either just the bottom layer of zinger fillet cripsy crust, a little bit of bacon, cheese and hash brown.

The bad side of it, I don’t really get a hint of the bacon taste as well as the hash brown’s. Probably due to the overwhelming floury fried taste from the zinger crust as well as the salty taste from the cheese.

Anyway, are you able to finish up the whole thing? Well … not for me. And so it became my lunch and dinner for today -_-”

so did you matched mine? 😉
