Rare Heartlands Coffeeshops Coupon Promotions

Din know VariNice was under Kofu organisation too.

but only on selected food … my chicken chop not selected one 😦

Coupon promotions from the other newly renovated coffeeshop (different owner liao) too.

taken on 2nd day of opening …
(dun dare to go too near to take incase … :P)

Dun u think the combination of yellow coloured plastic chairs + wood coloured wallpapers + dim yellow light + cloth banners looks abit like a XXXX? (-_-“)

After lunch, we took a walk at the small city vibe mall. Something here caught 小王子’s attention …

He likes colours … esp such soft neon light that change colours … yellow! red! green! blue! orange! pink! … and so he read on …

it’s time for a good haircut oh …

T is returning back from his 2mth forum in japan (suzuka via nagoya … not osaka or tokyo) tml. 大妹 and 小王子 will not be staying overnite at my hse as frequent liao.

Unexpected Nite

No occasion today. Just purely a dinner meet up to collect our 2mths-delayed orders. It had also been a long time since I last met up with them.

A last min (maybe pre-planned by them) decision to the indonesian restaurant, Grandma’s Restaurant, located at united sq.

United Sq, a very kiddy mall which housed lots of kids related shops. I was very tempted to buy a smarty top for 小王子. But the other voice in me reminded me of his many unworn clothings at hm 😀

Must all indonesian restaurant be so dark?

I like their simple pillar shelving. I can imagine how nice my book and toy collections will look on it 🙂

when this was placed down, i could smell the aroma of pandan immediately

achar (S$3.50) which everyone ‘fought’ for …
not bad but would appreciate thinner slices

chicken curry (S$12.80)
i would appreciate spicier and less salty. too dry for my taste.

fishhead assam (S$28.80)
the refillable gravy was great! but not the rest in the claypot cos somehow I felt that they weren’t cooked long enough.

long beans (S$7.80)
hard and raw taste …

otak otak (S$8.80)
those from muar fare better …

Total bill came up to S$18+ each … considered quite reasonable 😀 It would be cheaper if we din order fishhead assam, but tat’s the saviour for this meal.

i have always like Singa the Courtesy Lion : )
the other campaign icon I like was Sharity Elephant.

We came by Udders when we were heading to united sq which was situated just along the small lane beside it. And so decided to have our desserts here after our meal.

The cafe was small and with limited seats but the tables they placed outside the cafe could actually spread thru the whole stretch of corridor.

classic double (S$4.90)
Mao Shan Wang Durian
– like eating durian leh
Gila Melaka – can really taste a strong sweetness of gula melaka … maybe that was why called ‘gila’ 😛

premium double (S$5.90)
Pear Sorbet
– not strong enough
Fresh Soursop Sorbet – no hint of soursop leh …

combo c/conn (S$6.70)
Rum Rum Raisin / Bailey’s & Bourbon
this bowl was full of rum and irish cream … a truely liqueur surprise ^^

It was 9pm+ then and it seemed tat there wasn’t anywhere else to go.

But suddenly a thought came … and it was booked. We reached Int’l Building in 15mins time ^__*

oh?! revamped ktv rooms?

Neon-lighted glass coffee table, disco lightings, tambourine and maraca, they really added on to the atmosphere : )

yummy agar agar and tibits …

It was a nite of oldies. We ended up singing real old songs that belonged to Tsai Qin (蔡琴), Teresa Teng (邓丽君), and so on =P

And not forgetting the barbie girl again @_@

费费 Question 费费 Answer

费费question : Can I request to work from home? ***白痴笑容***
费费answer : No problem! But under these 2 conditions.

1) dun claim company for electricity bill (for laptop use)
2) must wear working top and be shown on webcam (to show that u r working officially)

so meaning … bottom … hmmm …

This shows how bo liao we were in office today, though each of us had our own things to handle … but … just feeling kinda … BORED …

We do need to add some spice sometimes … even though it’s “费费”!

Note: the 费费 question wasn’t given by me … neither was the 费费 answer 😛

Dragon Boat Festival Gifts

端午节 (Dragon Boat Festival) is round the corner … 28th to be exact.

The festive food for this festival is none other than the glutinous rice with different meaty fillings wrapped by banana leaves that formed a pyramid shape, namely the BA ZHANG (肉种 or meat dumpling). Think that’s the reason why this is oso one of my fav fests 🙂

But nowsadays, festive foods don’t only appear during festive seasons. Like for me, I get to eat them as breakfast (almost) everyday … depending on my mood and the level of hunger =P

My hse started to ‘flood’ in by homemade ba zhangs from 妈咪’s friends. Just over the weekends, we steamed so many of them, and so I decided to bring 1 as today’s breakfast (saved S$1.50 :D).

But guess wat?! I received 3 others from 2 colleagues.

1 from SC, 2 from LX … they were all ba zhangs … neither nyonya zhang nor gee zhang.
my breakfast and lunch for tml … save S$5 … hehehe …

Received following gifts from JL who just returned from her taiwan trip.

dan shui (淡水) famous local product, tie dan (铁蛋) and the slim face roller 😛
kinda clashed combi … high cholesterol vs slimming

i thought i told 大妹 on sat not to buy me anymore of the ezlink card sticker but here I got it from JL instead @_@

And of cos the yummy pineapple tarts for our dept.

We could all understand … if she was able to spend soooo much during our recent melaka trip, S$1.5K spent in taiwan wasn’t a surprise to us AT ALL!

Updated on 26 May

I realised it was impossible for me to take all 3 ba zhangs for 2 meals consecutively in a day. So the other 2 will be my breakfasts for the next 2 days 😛

‘Launching’ of FRC

I am happy to know that my crazy idea of a local foodie trip received 75% (9) supports with 25% (3) pending \ (^ O ^) /

We are planning to make a trip to Joo Chiat on a sat where we can walk and EAT along the way from katong/joo chiat road … towards Parkway Parade, and maybe ended up bowling at @ Marine Parade Central. But the plan may change to cycling before heading towards joo chiat/katong.

Anyway whichever the plan, it will be an eventful day for us. No RC fee, no time accomodating. Just our OTOT (own-time-own-target) way of spending a good sat.

So my FXXXX FREE GUIDING ‘TOUR’ (VERY PRIVATE) LTD ‘soft opening’ in melaka can ‘officially launch’ it’s subsidiary, FXXXX LOCAL ‘TOUR’ (VERY PRIVATE) LTD aka FRC liao … hahaha…

Hmmm … should I design a logo? (^_^)?
