正月十五 = EK’s Wedding Day

So other than remembering to eat mooncakes and carry lanterns, we were ‘forced’ to remember EK’s wedding anniversary from now on @_@

The CL, NL, PL and I arranged for an earlier met up at Westmall just to browse around, but mean purposes was to intake some bites before the actual dinner starts … which we believed as per usual ‘practice’ starting … LATE!

Though we knew that the civil service club was just nearby, it started to rain by the time we were ready to set off. The taxi driver was shocked when we told him our destination, cos when the taxi turned out to the main road, we could see the club diagonally opp the junction ***hei hei hei*** … but well … we were nicely dressed leh …

The club was located at a hilltop garden with a splendid scenery atop Bt. Batok hill. But the siao fours were too bz taking pix in the bride changing/make-up room to bother about the outside scenery. The sky darkened by the time we I wanted to 😦

Never had I attended a wedding dinner where the march-in aisle was so short, just few steps between the stage and the door nearby. And one more thing to mention, the MC talked like a professional getai host =P


Lobster cold dish
lobster and fruit in mayonnaise, honey fried baby squid, jelly fish, spring and prawn rolls.


Braised shark’s fin soup with crab meat
not too starchy and tasted delicious. we almost couldn’t finish it all and was ‘pushing’ around to finish it up. i took 2-3 bowls of this 😛


Roasted crispy chicken
some said tasted like KFC while I felt tasted more like those 炸童子鸡 … one word, “YUMMY!”


Steamed live sea bass with bean crumb
kinda rare for a wedding dinner dish to serve such with both sides of the fish so fleshy.
the tasty sauce would goes well with a bowl of rice 😀


Braised mixed superior seafood
after stuffing ourselves with the big fish, we were kinda full when this dish arrived.
anyway just a normal dish but not too starchy which was very good.


Fried prawn with cereal
oh! to peel off the shells daintily during a wedding dinner dressing in a nicey dress was really a challenge.
just a common dish which combinations never failed.


Fried scallop with broccoli
every bite was very bouncy and thick … doesn’t stick to my teeth lor :p


Braised ee fu noodle
most wedding dinner will always end with some ‘standard’ dish … ee fu noodle was one of them.
a common dish but not very floury at least.


Red bean paste with glutinous rice ball
not too watery but it would be more perfect with some orange peels added in.

The food served by this restaurant were exceptionally good … and BIG.

I never seen a wedding couple so freely going around taking pix, all becos they had only 18 tables for grp pix.

And lastly not to forget, being the 1st to arrive and last batch to go, we must take a grp pix together ^___*
