I had my beef hotpot set while BS had her chicken hotpot set.

We can choose our soup base and I had chosen kimchi soup base while BS had her choice of tom yam soup base. Both were spicy and hot. Really raised our appetite ^^

They have quite a big variety of side dishes, and since just the 2 of us, we ordered tahu telor and black pepper squid.

Serving looks small but we were quite full towards the end … mostly because the soup was too tasty and so we had few rounds of refill for that

I was invited to spend the voucher with her. The rest were not interested cos it was too far west for them …

I remembered the very 1st time I came here was through a get-together organised by the employment agency I had used for sourcing my very 1st job after graduation.

And now I was here again with someone who had the membership with them

We reached after about 25mins bus ride from Jurong Point bus terminal. I wondered when was the late time I took a non-aircon bus.

We had a stroll around the place with BS acting as the ‘tour guide’ of the day.

Time for lunch! There are chinese restaurant and bistro to choose from. I preferred the alfresco restaurant overlooking the waterfront with feel of sea breeze … though it was quite hot and hazy then

The prices were quite reasonable for a country club. Serving was big and yummy.

After S$50 less, we only had to pay S$16+. Great value huh!

Our bus passed by this place as we headed towards RMCC, and so after my request, we hopped down for my new exploration

Nothing much really, not even a shopping excitement. There are foodcourt, supermarket, and some small neighourhood shops which does help in catering daily necessities for the neighbourhood here.

Anyway there is a mega mall in the vicinity … namely the “Jurong Point”.

The sky changed from hot and hazy to heavy downpour with loud thunder drastically. We were trapped in the mall and ended up having something cold despites the already cold and wet weather

But I got a shock when I reached home.

It has grown in size!!

It used to be slightly bigger in size than those katong dumpling and was selling at S$3.

Now the size has grown 1/2 size more and is selling at S$5!

I seldom queue for KOI personally. And today I did it cos LC decided to buy some back home, and so I ‘accompanied’ her … and somehow earned myself a free drink!

We queued for 15 mins before we could place our order, and waited 10 mins before our queue number was called.

A mum came by with her girl. Out of curiosity, she approached us asking: “You people are queuing up for the drink?!”

Me: “Yes”

The mum looked shock: “Does it tasted that nice?”

Me: “Not bad. You can give it a try …”

Her eyes turned to the long queue, afterwhich she shaked her head, gave a disbelief look before she smiled and walked away.

Well, I’m not sure if its worth the ‘sacrifice’. If someone else was with me, I don’t mind joining just for the fun of it

BS’ sis joined us too. And so I brought them to Ramen Play to ‘玩一玩’

After browsing through the fair, I only grabbed these 2 for 二妹 and myself.

Finally I decided to buy this for 妈咪.

6pcs sugar free lotus seed paste with egg yolk (S$16.50)

If I remembered correctly, this was their 1st year to participate in the yearly fair.

Other than the mooncakes, they brought in their famous products like the almond biscuits too … which was my all time favourite buy in hong kong

And so ‘naturely’ I became the coordinator.

Unfortunately LC and WW couldn’t attend, cos we were all surprised by what we saw.

Mdm Busy was pregnant!!!

It had been quite a long time since we last met her. Though I had been communicating with her through msn, there seems no hint of her pregnancy … somemore it has been 7 months.

Her last pregnancy ended up in complications but luckily all went well after full medications. It definately took her great courage to try for a 2nd one.

After flipping through the menu outside the restaurant, we decided on this.

The ex-premise of Sakae Sushi had turned into a small and simple restaurant, Eighteen Chefs.

It was a self-serviced restaurant, and of course with no service charge included.

All needed to do was to write and tick through their order chit, bring it over to the cashier with payment, collect the water and cutlery, and lastly, wait for the order to be served.

One thing which I couldn’t understand was, there were so many waiters around, but only one busily serving drink orders around … to all tables, while the rest stand by the food serving counter and do nothing. This busy one was later seen serving food orders too. Hmm …

The price was pretty reasonable. Food was surprisingly flavoury despite the price. Presentation was good too.

I would recommend this place for cheap yet reasonably good food. Not a bad place for gathering with friends. But as the premise was rather opened, one might be ‘viewed’ by many curious passersby.

Well, after sending Mdm Busy off at the mrt, the remaining 4 headed off to kbox at lucky chinatown.

I wondered how long I had not been here, cos it seems that the place had underwent a big revamp.

my breakfast for today

I had this weird feeling that something beneath my toe was trying to pull me off. And as I was right at the mrt gantry with rush hours commuters behind me, it came off!!! :S

Guess the only thing I could do then was to walk and drag my soleless shoe as though nothing had happened

The experience was totally different from that of our cny night market. Not to say the difference in food, which in fact there were similarity with the festive cookies.

There were many food stalls like that of a pasar malam selling to those who wanted to grab something during their breaking of fast. Mostly seen were chicken wings, nasi lemak, nasi goreng, lekors, kuehs, keropok, and festive cookies.

There were even few stalls that sell floor mats, spreading at both sides of the passage way.

We were supposed to snack as we walked along the night market, but having to wait for the rain to stop, we had our dinner at the post centre instead.

keropok (3-for-S$10) are always so yummy! … and of cos we bought some from here ^^

lekors (8-for-S$1) were very crunchy and nice

bought only 1 pc of bamboo chicken wing (S$1.50) to try … but regretted. i should have bought more

I remembered we passed by this coffeeshop during the FRC 1st foodie trip to joochiat, but we didn’t went for it cos we were rather full and tired by the end of our trip.

Since the queue wasn’t too long, BS encouraged me to queue for it … which eventually took me good 20mins to finally got my hands on my order @@

putu piring (3-for-S$1) tasted almost same as the one i ate in melaka, juicy and not too floury

BS said they used to sell at a coffeeshop in clementi, which I couldn’t recall so. 妈咪 was unsure either after I told her too.

Does anyone remember so?
